Sam Gruer brings more than 30 years of capital market experience to his role, guiding clients through complex transactions by making strategic recommendations based on sound, thoughtful, and sophisticated analysis. During his career, Sam has advised on and/or executed derivative and investment transactions totaling more than $50 billion for financial institutions and other clients. His expertise comes from serving as a structurer, trader, and marketer of interest rate derivatives and defeasance products at some of the largest banks and broker/dealers. He serves clients from the New York regional office.

His prior experience also includes leadership roles at Deutsche Bank as Director of Derivative Structuring, at JPMorgan Chase as co-founder of the municipal derivatives department, and at Prudential Securities as Head of New Products for the municipal securities division.

Education

Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sam passed the MSRB Series 50 Examination to become a qualified municipal advisor representative and the MSRB Series 54 Examination to become a qualified municipal advisor principal.
